Lindsay Lohan‘s mommy dearest is the latest Lohan to take on the tag-team tabloid spotlight, and this time, it’s the “Mean Girls” star who’s coming to the rescue.

Dina recently came under fire for her strange appearance on “Dr. Phil,” in which she mumbled, made irrelevant comments and seemed altogether out of it, leading critics to speculate that she was inebriated at the time of the interview.

The older Lohan, 50, denied that she was drunk during the taped interview, telling TMZ that she didn’t “care what it looks like.”

“All people saw was two minutes edited of an hour long interview,” she told TMZ at the time. “Of couse they cut it to make it interesting. That’s their job.

“I don’t blame them for doing that. Some of the comments were taken out of context but I’m fine. I’m fine.”

On Saturday, Lindsay similarly jumped to her mother’s defense, slamming Dr. Phil for bullying Dina.

“@DrPhil You should be ashamed of yourself. What kind of man takes advantage of a woman @her most vulnerable state?” she tweeted. “YOU are the fraud.”

Though the tweet was later removed, the “Liz & Dick” actress, 26, did also note that her mother is “amazing, beautiful, talented” and strong.The mother-daughter duo’s behavior has come into question before.

Earlier this month, Michael Lohan told The News that he believes that Lindsay needs to take a break from the Hollywood scene – and, importantly, from Dina.

“I really think Lindsay needs to get away for a while,” he told The News’ Confidenti@l gossip column. “She just needs to get away from everybody.”

On Sept. 15, Lindsay accompanied her mom for a night out on the town in Hicksvill, L.I., where Mama Lohan drank mixed drinks all night to celebrate her 50th birthday.

“After finding out Dina was drinking in front of Lindsay on her birthday, not only do I think it’s pathetic, but obviously she doesn’t think what anyone thinks of her as a mother,” Michael Lohan told Confidenti@l of the occasion.

“It’s absolutely disgraceful that a mother would appear on ‘Dr. Phil’ in the condition she was in and continue on the same path. Even more troubling is now she was drinking around and with Lindsay.”
